Folk Dance and Music Education programme - for teachers, young people and schools
We take our work into schools and communities and also welcome young people and groups who would like to visit us. We are keen to explore new ideas and partnerships and can create one off workshops or longer term projects to meet your specific needs, whether they have an educational emphasis or are more about bringing people together for fun and celebration.
We offer folk dance, music and storytelling workshops delivered by experts with experience of working with schools and community groups. We also offer INSET training for teachers and arts practitioners.
We can adapt our programme to suit your needs – workshops can last half a day, a full day, run across several weeks, or as an intensive programme. We offer workshops that focus on learning a specific dance styles such as clog/step, morris and maypole dancing - developing children’s co-ordination, rhythm, spatial awareness and ability to work as part of a group. We are also able to offer a full day’s Folk Taster Workshop incorporating folk singing, music and dance.
We can bring our work into your school or community centre, or you can bring your group to Halsway Manor where we have workshop and residential facilities. We can host groups of up to 60 and are happy to discuss residential packages and options with you.
Prices for workshops start at £60. A full day’s workshop is approximately £250 depending on location and materials required.
