Halsway Grants
Halsway Manor – National Centre for Folk Arts is continuing its commitment to grow the UK’s folk economy, support artists and nurture the next generation by offering grants to individuals and organisations.
Key funding aim
We are seeking to fund projects or part-fund projects/schemes which use folk music, song, dance, craft or storytelling to engage audiences, extend learning, teach new skills or create more opportunities for participation.
What we are looking for
We are looking for projects which complement Halsway’s aims and objectives and use folk arts to educate, enhance understanding and knowledge and give access to people who may not have experienced folk arts before. It could involve enhancing or extending an existing project.
We are particularly interested in projects which include participatory elements and/or promote the folk arts to new audiences.

Small Grants |

You can apply for up to £1,500 Funding can be for individuals or organisations Projects should be completed within a year of the grant being awarded Repeat applications will be considered |
Big Grants |

You can apply for between £2,000 - £10,000 Funding can be for individuals or organisations Projects can be up to 3 years in length |

Key dates
Applications open - Saturday 1 August 2026
Applications close - Friday 30 October 2026
Applicants notified - by Tuesday 15 December

We expect to receive more applications for funding than we will be able to fulfil. The number of grants awarded, and the distribution between Small Grants and Big Grants will be at the discretion of the panel, and will be based on the number of applications, and their relevance to our aims and objectives. No decisions will be made before the application deadline.
