Halsway Folk Dance Holiday
Come and join us for a special summer week at Halsway Manor, full of variety but with social folk dancing at its heart with styles ranging from Playford to the newest contras called by an expert caller - all accompanied by sensitive live music from experienced musicians. You can also enjoy some craft workshops, local walks, instrumental and singing workshops and games both in the bar and on the lawn.
What’s on offer?
Hosted by Jane Thomas, the Summer Folk Dance Week brings our expert caller Ivan together with musicians Richard and Chris. Most mornings there will be 2 themed dance workshops, followed after lunch by a selection of optional activities. These could include craft workshops with Kerstin in the manor, or a local walk with Jane. If you play an instrument, why not bring it along to join Chris’ workshop or join Belinda’s morning choir? And if after all that you are still looking for something to do, there is always the option of summer games on the manor lawn. Every evening after dinner, we all congregate for more dancing but with Belinda often augmenting the evening band.
Who is it for?
This week has social folk dancing at its core, so a knowledge of the basic moves and a love of folk dance and music would be recommended.
